The evidence is mounting on how best to improve maternity
care
in the US, and midwives and a returned emphasis on normal physiologic childbirth are key parts of the solution. Be a key player in this movement by joining 1,500 of your colleagues at the ACNM 55th Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, June 12-16. Register Now!
The ACNM Annual Meeting, Evidence in Action, is the premier opportunity for midwives, students, and other women's health care providers to polish clinical skills, learn the latest evidence-based research, share knowledge and experiences, and celebrate the work that midwives are doing to advance maternity and women's health care. Our educational sessions will range from direct clinical practice matters, to updates on changing state and national laws, regulations and quality initiatives, to ongoing efforts to improve access to safe maternity care globally.
Premier Sessions address topics of broad significance and feature nationally-recognized advocates for maternal health. Come and be inspired by new consensus work on evidence-based maternity care with Rima Jolivet, CNM, MSN, IBCLC, of Childbirth Connection. Delve into the factors driving maternal mortality at the annual Therese Dondero Lecture, with ACOG President-elect Richard Waldman, MD Then for our closing session, turn your sights to the global front with maternal health advocate and former supermodel Christy Turlington Burns and Theresa Shaver, CNM, director of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood. Ms. Burns will speak about her role as the Advocate for Maternal Health at CARE and her new documentary on rising maternal mortality rates, No Woman, No Cry.
