National Midwifery Week, October 7-13, 2007, is a wonderful occasion celebrating midwifery and midwives' commitment to being "With Women, for a Lifetime." Whether you are a midwife, a new parent or grandparent, or you're just seeking information about midwifery, this week will be filled with educational opportunities.
If you are new to midwifery, you can learn a bit about the profession each day of Midwifery Week. You can also find out what midwives in your area are doing to celebrate this week by clicking here. Also be sure to find a midwife in your area and learn more about midwifery.
Message from the President
Welcome to Midwifery Week 2007. From October 7-13 we have a great opportunity to educate others about our profession and our important role in women's health care.
Midwifery Week is a time to draw extra attention to your practice, ACNM and midwifery through a public education campaign. You can do that by hosting events, participating in community activities and getting the attention of your local media. This Web site will provide you with tools you need to get your Midwifery Week celebrations off to a good start. And don't forget to let us know how you celebrated; we're always inspired by your ideas and stories.
Thank you for helping make Midwifery Week 2007 a memorable one.
Kitty Ernst, CNM ACNM President
